Evolving into a Business Critical Learning Organization
Today’s business environment is one where every dollar counts. This means that simply reducing the cost of training is no longer enough. Learning has to add value. Effective training has been proven to influence the performance of the business and contribute to growth, profitability and return on shareholder investment. How do learning departments reach this new level? In this panel discussion and workshop, we will introduce SkillSoft’s Learning Growth Model as a framework for helping your learning organization begin and/or further its strategic growth journey. You will hear directly from companies that have advanced their learning programs to more strategic levels. Client panelists will share their case studies and best practices. To help you carry these best practices forward you will complete an exercise to assess the current strategic state of your learning organization using SkillSoft’s Learning Growth Model Assessment. After the conference, your SkillSoft learning consultant will follow up to review tthis assessment with you and to assist in formulating a plan for leveraging identified strengths and developing key areas that will contribute to your team’s growth as a strategic business resource.
Fundamentals of SkillPort Administration
This workshop is designed for users who are new to SkillPort administration. You will learn about the different ways you can tune your site to best fit your needs. This hands-on tour of the administrative functionality will include best practices for:
- Adding and maintaining users and groups
- Assigning content to user groups
- Changing presentation settings
- Reporting on your e-learning program
By the end of the session, you will have the tools needed to initiate and maintain a SkillPort site.

Identifying Custom Project Requirements within your Organization that will Deliver Breakthrough ROI
Audience: L&D professionals seeking opportunities to increase ROI within their respective companies
Corporate training departments are often in a reactive mode responding to the requests of business stakeholders' requests. In this workshop we will present and discuss ways of being proactive by identifying business requirements and processes in your organization that would benefit from a custom learning program. We will be specifically focusing on areas of your business where training will return real cost savings. The workshop will also cover the process for identifying the solution or solutions that will best fit the business requirement. We will work to group attendees from similar businesses for discussions and workshop activities as well as share some examples from SkillSoft clients that have achieved significant business results through custom developed e-learning.

What's in your Toolbox: Building a Blended Learning Program with the Tools you have Today
This workshop offers attendees a practical way for developing blended learning strategies utilizing the tools they currently have available. During this interactive session, we will provide a high-level overview of what blended learning means today, and create awareness of how to incorporate ways to utilize internal learning assets. A proprietary SkillSoft approach, Blended by Design, will be introduced as a framework for creating a learner-centric blended learning environment. In addition, attendees will learn how to recognize and overcome the challenges inherent in multi-system blended programs by applying program management strategies.
