‘C’ Suite Goals – Does Your Learning Program Line Up? 1:00pm to 4:00pm
This workshop will explore a strategic model that maps out the expanding stages of organizational learning, from tactical to strategic. Many organizations struggle in the earlier stages of the learning life cycle, while others show visionary leadership in moving their traditional training effort to the higher stages of learning by utilizing formal and informal learning support and by addressing current business issues. The organizations in the higher stages of learning have closely aligned performance and human capital achievements.
This workshop will provide new insight that can expand your vision for your current learning program. We will include an overview of a five-stage model for organizational learning, with an understanding of how to use this model and how to map out where your organization is based on this model. We will also discuss the creation of a new view for learning that expands and supports your vision to go beyond traditional views and create new opportunities for productive learning within your company. Finally, we will detail a leadership model along with a practical process for building increased alignment and executive commitment to your vision.
What you will get by attending this workshop:
- A set of five-stage model documents outlining and clarifying the possible strategic growth of learning for your organization
- A copy of the presentation slides along with exercises you will participate in with your colleagues.

Today’s business environment is one where every dollar counts, which means simply reducing the cost of training is no longer enough. Learning has to add value. Effective training has been proven to influence the performance of the business and contribute to growth, profitability, and return on shareholder investment. How do learning departments reach this new level? In this panel discussion and workshop, we will introduce SkillSoft’s Learning Growth Model as a framework for helping your learning organization begin and/or further its strategic growth journey. You will hear directly from companies that have advanced their learning programs to more strategic levels. Panelists who will share their case studies and best practices include FMGlobal, Packaging Corporation of America (PCA), and OMYA. To help you carry these best practices forward you will complete an exercise to assess the current strategic state of your own learning organization using SkillSoft’s Learning Growth Model Assessment. After the conference, your SkillSoft Account Consultant will follow up to review this assessment with you and to assist in formulating a plan for leveraging identified strengths and developing key areas that will contribute to your team’s growth as a strategic business resource.
